Everything you need to know about ordering cakes, treats and dessert tables from Sugarspoon.
How far ahead should I order a cake?
Please book at least one month ahead. Wedding cakes and dessert tables are best booked two to three months out. Rush orders are sometimes possible for an extra fee.
Do you deliver in Minneapolis and the Twin Cities?
Yes. Delivery starts at $60 within 20 miles and is priced by round-trip mileage beyond that. We do not ship cakes.
How much does a custom cake cost?
Single-tier cakes start at $225 (6-inch, 3 layers, serves 16–18), two-tier cakes from $320 and three-tier cakes from $615. Final price depends on size, design, flowers and fondant work.
Where is Sugarspoon Desserts located?
We are a boutique studio based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, serving Minneapolis, Saint Paul and the surrounding suburbs.
Do you ship cakes?
No. To protect the quality of every cake we deliver locally but do not ship.
What flavors do you offer?
Vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, cookies & cream, coconut, strawberry, carrot, almond, pistachio, lemon, raspberry, raspberry coconut and cherry chocolate. Fillings are chosen with you.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Yes. We offer a cake tasting box each quarter, and custom tasting arrangements for weddings and special events.
Are you insured for events?
Yes, we are insured for events and rentals.
How is pricing decided?
Price depends on size, style, flavors, decoration, quantity, location, flowers and fondant work. We will work with you to find an option that fits your budget.
What deposit do dessert tables need?
A 50% non-refundable deposit holds your date, with the balance due one week before the event, plus a $175 refundable equipment deposit for rentals.
